“Not without reason does one call making music ‘playing’. The real play is insolubly connected with the creative risk of experiment.” – Michael Vetter

The recorder player

I'm a faculty member at UFG and I got my doctorate degree from Unesp. I studied recorder with Isa Poncet, and later, with Reine-Marie Verhagen and Peter van Heyghen, at the Royal Conservatory The Hague in the Netherlands. I have worked as a performer and as a teacher in Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, The Netherlands and the United States. I also work developing cultural projects and endorsing products for institutions such as Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, Fundação Social Raimundo Fagner and Yamaha Musical do Brasil.

The inspiration

Music is at the same time my passion and a great challenge. I remember the enchantment I felt when I heard for the first time recordings of Vivaldi's recorder concerts. So much energy, grace and elegance. The beauty of music through the recorder. As a performer I have the wonderful opportunity of sharing feelings and ideas with my audience through music. That's my inspiration.

My work

“So many years of work with the recorder brought me great challenges and learning opportunities. I was very fortunate to have added to my passion for performance other interests such as musical pedagogy, conducting and the creation of cultural projects. Taking part in the development of a student; artistically leading an instrumental group; and translating ideas into a cultural project are invariably precious experiences.”
